Properties: white freeze-dried powder. Lysozyme extracted from egg white is a single peptide chain composed of 18 kinds of 129 amino acid residues. It is rich in basic amino acids and has 4 pairs of disulfide bonds to maintain the enzyme configuration. It is an alkaline protein with lysine at the N-terminal and leucine at the C-terminal. Lysozyme in egg white is type C, which is the most thermostable enzyme known. It is suitable for ph5.3-6.4
Purpose: biochemical research. It is an alkaline enzyme that can hydrolyze mucopolysaccharide in pathogenic bacteria. By destroying the β - 1,4 glycoside bond between n-acetyl-cell-wall acid and N-acetylglucosamine in cell wall, the insoluble mucopolysaccharide in cell wall is decomposed into soluble glycopeptide, which leads to the escape of the broken content of cell wall and the dissolution of bacteria. Lysozyme can also bind directly to the virus protein with negative charge, and form complex salt with DNA, RNA and apo protein, which makes the virus inactive. It can decompose Gram-positive bacteria such as Micrococcus wall dissolving, Bacillus megaterium and Sarcina flavus.
