Glycidyl methacrylate is a colorless transparent liquid, insoluble in water, almost soluble in all organic solvents, and irritating to skin and mucous membrane. Avoid contact with acids, oxides, ultraviolet radiation and free radical initiators. Because its molecule contains both carbon-carbon double bonds and epoxy groups, it can carry out both free-radical and ionic reactions. Therefore, it has high reactivity and is an important fine chemical raw material.

Main purpose:

1. It is mainly used for powder coatings, as well as thermosetting coatings, fiber treatment agents, adhesives, antistatic agents, rubber and resin modifiers, ion exchange resins and adhesives for printing inks.

2. It is used as a functional monomer for polymerization. It is mainly used in the manufacture of acrylic powder coatings, used as the copolymerization of soft monomers with hard monomers such as m-e-t-h-y-l m-e-t-h-a-c-r-y-l-a-t-e and styrene. It can adjust the glass transition temperature and flexibility, and improve the gloss, adhesion and weather resistance of the coating film. It is also used to manufacture acrylic emulsion and non-woven fabrics. As a functional monomer, it can be used to manufacture photosensitive resin, ion exchange resin, chelating resin, medical selective filtration membrane, dental material, anticoagulant, insoluble adsorbent, etc. It is also used to modify polyolefin resin, rubber and synthetic fiber. 

3 Because it contains both carbon-carbon double bonds and epoxy groups, it is widely used in the synthesis and modification of polymer materials. It is used as active diluent of epoxy resin, stabilizer of v-i-n-y-l c-h-l-o-r-i-d-e, modifier of rubber and resin, ion exchange resin and adhesive of printing ink. It is also used in powder coating, thermosetting coating, fiber treatment agent, adhesive, antistatic agent, etc. In addition, GMA has also significantly improved the adhesion, water resistance and solvent resistance of adhesives and non-woven coatings. 

4. In electronics, it is used for photoresist film, electronic wire, protective film and far-infrared phase X-ray protective film. In terms of functional polymers, it is used for ion exchange resins, chelating resins, etc. In medical materials, it is used for anti-blood coagulation materials, dental materials, etc.
