Insoluble in water, soluble in 2% alcohol NaOH, soluble in hot glacial acetic acid, moderately soluble in acetone, slightly soluble in alcohol, ether, chloroform and carbon disulfide. Melting point: 283-285 ºC. Specific rotation: + 57 ~ + 61 º (C = 0.3, pyridine)
