Properties: white or almost white amorphous powder or solid. Soluble in water, insoluble in organic solvent. The dry powder is stable at 2-8 ºC with a validity period of 3A. The aqueous solution is inactivated within 8 hours at room temperature. In case of heat, dilute acid, alkali, metal and other activities decreased. Prothrombin, which is separated from animal plasma, is activated by coagulation enzyme and calcium chloride. It is a kind of proteolytic enzyme. Under the activation of thrombin, soluble fibrinogen in plasma changes into insoluble fibrin network structure, which makes blood coagulate. Fibrin is composed of six peptide chains. Thrombin is composed of four peptide chains that cut off a specific peptide bond (Arg Gly) from the N-terminal of the four peptide chains, and release two a-peptide (19 peptide) and two b-peptide (21 peptide). The other two peptide chains with N-terminal of coonine have no change. After a-peptide and b-peptide are removed, the negative charge of protein molecule is reduced, and the linear and lateral polymerization of fibrin molecule is promoted, thus forming fibrin with network structure
