Properties (the following information is for reference only): white or light yellow powder, extracted by Escherichia coli. Odorless, slightly sweet. An enzyme that hydrolyzes lactose to glucose and galactose. Generally, it refers to the enzyme that can hydrolyze β - galactoside to galactose and glycoside. It is a chaotic liquid (mostly dissolved) in water and insoluble in ethanol . The pH range is 5.5-9.5 (25 ºC, 20HR), the optimum pH is 7.0, and the optimum temperature is 50 ºC. During the test, the powder was dissolved into transparent liquid with 100mm ph7.3 potassium phosphate buffer. Extracted from E.coli.

It is mainly used in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, coupled on the antibody as a marker.
