Product description: A glycoprotein exopeptidase of the "acid" and "serine" calss. Highly purified specific activity in two different substrate systems: Z-Phe-Leu, Z-Glu-Tyr.
Properties: White powder or solid, isoelectric point 3.6, extinction coefficient A at 280 nm is 15.0. The enzyme can be inhibited by fluorophosphate (DFP) and also by some metal ions such as Cu2+, Hg2+, Fe2+, Mg2+, etc.
Uses: Biochemical research. A type of exopeptidase that can specifically degrade from the C-terminus of the peptide chain to release free amino acids. Exist in the organism in the form of zymogen. Carboxypeptidase Y has a wide range of ability to hydrolyze various amino acids at the carboxyl end. Therefore, this enzyme has become a common tool enzyme in the C-terminal analysis of protein polypeptide chains. It is different from pancreatic carboxypeptidase A and B. Acidic protein containing metal ions, with peptidase and lipase activity
